Journalistic standards

Here's an example of what I meant when I talked about information asymmetry. Donald Trump has been accused of rape or attempted rape by three different women. All three cases were dropped before they went to trial. The most recent accuser was set to have a press conference on the Wednesday before the election, but she canceled it and dropped the case due to death threats. There was practically no coverage of it in the mainstream media because the accuser was remaining anonymous, and it didn't pass a certain set of journalistic standards. Now think about what would have happened if the roles had been reversed. If Bill Clinton or Hillary Clinton had been accused of such a serious crime right before the election? How would it have been covered by NewsMax, InfoWars, and Breitbart? Now think about how James Comey's letter to Congress a week before the election actually was covered by the media, when it turned out to be absolutely nothing. We'll never have fair elections when one side of the debate is being poisoned by a toxic stew of innuendo and misinformation.
